10 Months
Little Scarlett Ann turned ten months old last week and she's got some new tricks up her sleeve! She is now pulling herself up on pretty much anything she can find - furniture, steps, cats. She learned how to stand up in her crib, but she hasn't mastered the sitting down part yet. Almost every day now I rush into her room to find her crying because she's stuck standing up! I try to teach her to bend her knees to sit, but most of the time she's already so freaked out that I end up picking her up and calming her down. Poor boo.
Her babbling vocabulary is growing, she now says things like "ba", "ga", "na" and "nang" along with my favorites "ma" and "mom". Her favorite babble of the moment is "da". Everything is "da da da da da da" and she says it in the sweetest high pitched voice. It's funny, when she's frustrated or mad she says "mom mom mom" in a low voice and when she's happy it's "da da dat tee" all light and breezy. Sounds like a daddy's girl in the making!
Let's see what else... When my mom was visiting she taught Scarlett 'So big!' We say "How big is Scarlett?" and she reaches her arms way up in the air and we say "So big!". She also likes to wave hi and bye-bye to everyone. She has two waves in her repertoire - the whole arm wave and the hand wave. It varies day to day, guess she likes to keep in fresh. Since I'm with her all the time, I notice little things like how just yesterday she learned how to take off her hat (super!) and how to bang two toys together. It's so awesome to watch her learn things right in front of me even if that means I'm going to spend a lot more time putting hats back on her head. Just trying to protect that blonde head from the harsh California sun! A mother's work is never done.

Father's Day
We had a super fun Father's Day yesterday, if I do say so myself. After homemade buttermilk pancakes and (not homemade) veggie sausage, we spent the afternoon at our new favorite place - Huntington Gardens. Thanks to my mom, we are now members and go for free! We decided to hit the Desert Garden, which we had never seen before. It was absolutely amazing and huge! We were blown away by endless rows of cacti and succulents in all different shapes and sizes and colors. Then, we had an illegal picnic on the grass with our contraband salad and lemon bar.
Scarlett sure is lucky to have such a sweet, loving, funny daddy. From what I hear, she loves him more than Cheerios.

Angry face
The other day Scarlett started making an 'angry face' where she furrows her brow and curls her upper lip. It's awesome. I don't think she's actually angry, maybe a bit frustrated. Or maybe it's just a fun face to make. Here is a picture of a happy version of the angry face I've titled "I'm going to get you and plant a big one on your face".
